Every Winsor & Newton Oil Colour is made with fine art pigments and formulated to enhance each pigment’s natural characteristics – providing excellent tinting strength and coverage to ensure every colour performs as it should. 5 colours have historical basis (referenced by George Field’s notebooks in our archive) and another 3 are contemporary secondary colours (oranges and green). Innovation has allowed Winsor & Newton to offer contemporary colours as single pigments where normally artists would expect these to be mixed pigments.
